B)The advantages of using surveys while trying to obtain information for my particular research are that I can use the results of the surveys and with that information I can compare the result with the information that I had previous obtains about the research that Sofi and I are conducting.

The advantage of conducting a survey are:

    • Faster
    • Cheaper
    • More accurate
    • More quickly to analyze
    • Easier to use for the participants and for the researchers
    • The participants give a more honest answer

A survey can be design in 10 steps according to the Elon University Poll:

    1. “Know your population
    2. Determine the mood
    3. Create a questionary
    4. Test your questionary
    5. Get a good sample
    6. Collect the data
    7. Organize and clear data
    8. Weight the data
    9. Analyze the data
    10. Present the results”

The information that Sofi and I had obtained from our past investigations can be compared by the information that we will obtain from the responses of the surveys. From the surveys we will know if the social media has had an impact in the lives of the young people and after we conduct the experiment, we will provide the subject the same survey and compare the results and based on that we can compare the information of the surveys of the experiments with what we have obtained from other sources of information.

  2. Here are some of the great advantages of conducting a survey to collect information for your information:

Online surveys tend to decrease the margin of error because members can easily share their reactions. Conventional investigation strategies rely heavily on field personnel to accurately enter all points of interest. We know for a fact that at any point that a human being repeats a task frequently there is a possibility of error associated with it.

Another advantage of an online survey is the time it takes to complete it. It's estimated to be two-thirds less than the time it takes you to answer a survey in the traditional way. And since the data is uploaded to the web, we do not need to wait to collect all the surveys on paper.
Analysis and results happen instantaneously and thanks to this companies can act quickly, they can make diagrams, send information for further investigation and share their results with whoever they want.

Most of the people who are surveyed prefer to use the internet to answer questions rather than receive a phone call. This is another advantage of an online survey, that members can choose the time that suits them best to respond, and it is worth mentioning that the completion time of an online survey is much shorter.

Whenever one develops a survey, each question must comply with many things, but the most essential part is that: “there’s no shadow of a doubt it’s measuring this variable”, a survey based research depends entirely on the information the survey receives, and the validity of that information gets reduced massively when the questions can be interpreted differently, when the answers don’t offer the entire scope of possibility, when the question is so complicated, specific, or open that The responders have no idea what their answer might even be. To consciously choose passive, realistic and approachable wording is a risk as well, because one might say the way the questions are asked influence the results, so one must be as objective and simple as possible.

After the ordeal of objectivity and reducing confusion on a survey, one will find many advantages to organizing survey information. For one, all your answers fall into pre-established categories, which will already have conceived conclusions or insights tied to them. Another advantage is that it can be done anonimously and remotely. This does, however, come with its own risk, the risk of false or “troll” information. Since the survey might be available online to many people, joke answers might get accounted for when getting results. As such one should probably set some safety measures to filter out ridiculous responses. For instance, if you’re surveying people in the age group of 12-17 year olds, add options for 11 and younger and 18 or older. You can instantly filter out those results because even if they are true, they don’t belong in your research.(CHI KT, 2019)

A survey is used to periodically evaluate the results of a running program. Know the opinion of the public about a specific topic. Previously research the characteristics of the population to ask the correct questions.
One of the difficulties that I found when doing my survey is to organize both the questions and the ideas, when asking the questions you also have to organize them in the survey so that it looks orderly and not crowded, by this I mean that it changes the subject little by little and not abruptly, since this gives an image of asking questions like crazy and not giving it a specific form, creating the questions is easy because I know the subject, since I have worked on it since the first period, without However, one difficulty that my team and I are facing is the number of people who answer the survey, we have sent our survey to many friends and family, however very few people answer it, even the same people to whom the survey is directed. , which is mainly young people.
Some difficulty would also be the results, some are not so specific, or even open questions are more difficult to generalize.

A)I believe that the main challenges when conducting a survey can be several but one of the main ones is, Cover everyone's answers since not everyone has the same answer for the questions and normally or what is normalized is that a survey It is a multiple option therefore there is a limited amount of responses therefore some users do not feel comfortable when answering some surveys, also another of the main problems of conducting surveys, is that the users who answer the survey answer honestly And don't just answer the survey on the run, that's why sometimes in research trusting surveys is not always the best option, that's why it is very important to know which public to give you the confidence to answer and when you can trust and when not, why We know that many surveys are manipulated since the creators of the surveys give them to their friends in order to manipulate the results and always re out winning or whenever what they want comes out, that is why I think that surveys are not a reliable source for some investigations since at any time they can be manipulated and we would never realize it.

  6. A) What do you think are the main challenges when developing a survey?

Surveys are effective sources to collect data and information from clients our customers from a business or project.

Thanks to advances in technology, in the media, and the internet; nowadays, doing surveys is a little easier, since it is not necessary to hire a company that is especially in charge of preparing them; however, it is easy to make mistakes when doing our surveys due to lack of experience, lack of precision, among other issues.

Some challenges you might face when designing a survey are:

    • Missing the purpose: Is important to define the purpose behind our survey, so before starting we should ask ourselves some vital questions like; what do I need to know?, why do I need to know it? what will I do with my results?

    • Measuring too many things: What you are measuring and how, if we don’t know this, we can end up measuring too many things, making it hard to analyze your data.

    • Using a biased selection: We want a statistically valid sample size; you don’t want one that is too large and irrelevant. That is why we must target a population that fits the goals of our survey.

    • Getting duplicate responses: We can solve this issue by using vote protection so respondents can only take your survey one time.

    • Mixing up your wording: surveys that have complicated wording are hats for people to complete.

  7. I believe that when we apply a survey there are many factors that can affect the results and as a consequence the development of our research, that is why it is important to know them, like that we are not going to fall into any of them, for example, when we don't know our group research or we don't have a defined sample, the research will be completely affected because this audience is not in the parameters of the research. Another factor that we must consider very important is that if the questions are not clear they can confuse people, this confusion would result in people spending more time on the questions and this would mean that they don't finish the survey. talking about the duration of the survey, it is also important to define the way that best goes with your research, since each one has different purposes, one of the most effective means is to do it through a digital device since the Answers can come automatically once done, and it is not very difficult to find the ideal moment to ask them to answer it.

One of the main challenges with designing accurate surveys is knowing the purpose behind it or narrowing it down. A poor survey will have questions that aren’t related and seemingly have no purpose.

The problem is solved by knowing the purpose of your survey. Before you start creating your survey, you want to ask yourself a few vital questions: What do I need to know?, Why do I need to know it? or What will I do with my results? Once you can answer these questions, the purpose of your survey will be clear, and with a clear purpose, more people are likely to complete your survey.

Another issue can be asking questions in such a way that you’ll get the answers you’re looking for. For example, a political organization conducts a survey. To influence their results, they ask their questions in carefully crafted ways to elicit the answers they want.

In our research we are going to use a survey to obtain information from our community, with this information our team will be able to get a better understanding of the objective and to formulate a result. This will be one of the main points of our research, since the advantages that a survey can give to our research are huge.
